It was one of the marathon run matches in the cricketing history. Sri Lanka and India both played really well and scored mammoth scores in first innings. Around 1600 runs were scored in 5 days and finally match declared as a draw on the 5th day before time.

Like 1st test, Sri Lanka won the toss and choose to bat first. Sri Lankan batsmen played amazing in 1st innings and showed no mercy to Indian bowlers. Paranavitana (100), Sangakkara (219*) and Jayawardene (174) put Sri Lanka in the strong position and total was 642 for 4 wickets. No Indian bowler was impressive in bowling.

Now it was time for India to fight back. Sehwag (99) and Vijay (58) started well for India. But suddenly India started loosing wickets and they lost quick 3 wickets. India was fearing to follow-on same as 1st test. Sachin (203) and Raina (120) played amazing innings and put India to good position. Same Sri Lankan bowlers were totally unimpressive and match was surely going into draw.

Finally India got all out at 707 and Sri Lanka made 129 for 3 before both the captains decided the match to draw. Sri Lanka leads 3 match series by 1-0. 3rd and final test will be played from 3rd august 2010.
