South Africa beats New Zealand in a thriller match

Today South Africa beat New Zealand in a low-scoring thriller match just by 1 run. After this South Africa tops the points table by winning all the matches in group D.

merweThe match was a low-scoring. South Africa made just 128/7 in 20 overs. The score looked too low and New Zealand expected to chase the target easily. Only Smith from the African team was able to cross the 30 run mark. All other African batsmen failed to show their talent at the most. New Zealand bowlers made a good efforts and restricted the opposition to just 128 runs. Butler from the New Zealand bowling attack took 2 wickets in just 13 runs and proved to be the most economic bowler from the side.

On the other hand in the New Zealand innings except from McCullum no batsmen were able to play a good innings. Also African bowling attack was tight and the match winner bowler RE van der Merwe took two important wickets of kiwi’s side. He took wickets of McCullum and Taylor which proved to be the turning point of the match. RE van der Merwe later awarded with player of the match award for his amazing bowling spell.

South Africa now leads the point table from group D and expected to be the toughest challange in the tournament to any other side.
